Hi, Thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Susan and I originally hail from the UK but have lived in Finland since early 2008 with my husband and family.
I graduated from Centria University of Applied Science the end of 2022 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Information Technology. I also hold a Vocational Qualification in Information and Communications Technology. My studies progressed well and I was able to graduate 6 months ahead of time, but I feel that now is when the true learning begins and I look forward to the challenges.
During my studies I did some freelance work in Webdesign; honing my skills a little. A little designing of promotional material and video editing. I've also did some simple translation services from Finnish to English.
I am currently working as a Project Assistant at Sasken Finland Oy (Kaustinen). I originally began working within Sasken as a Summer Trainee Engineer in its hardware department. Upon graduation was employed in my present role. I am enjoying expanding my skills and gaining experience accross multiple areas. It is great to be part of a team and be working on innovative projects.
During my studies my documentation and organisational skills in particular were praised by teachers. These skills were also noted and utilised in my daily work within Sasken, and lead to my current role.
I am proud to have some of my documentation work now being used as teaching aids for new students, both in the vocational school level and university of applied science level.
I'm interested in all things IT, I enjoy the creativity of it all, especially front end design, UI/UX.
There is a satisfaction in seeing your work, in use and working as it should; or knowing you contributed towards a larger project.
I even like to document! More than anything I just enjoy learning and gaining new experiences that comes from the wisdom of others. I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone and try my hand at something new.
I am a worker who is passionate about her work and will always give 100% no matter what the task.
